This role requires a lawyer to support the existing Practice Group Counsel to implement the knowledge strategy for the Litigation Practice Group (including International Arbitration White Collar Crime and Regulatory) (the group) and help implement projects to meet the groups knowledge needs; monitor developments in the legal and business environment in order to keep both the group and its clients up to date; provide legal and practical expertise to support and grow the groups practice; create develop and manage the groups collection of forms precedents and research materials; organise design and deliver group training; and provide other support as needed.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge Strategy & Innovation:
To work with the Practice Group Counsel and shareholders to regularly asses the knowledge needs of the group.
Collaborate with the innovation function of the Firm to help develop and implement both internal and client-facing technologies for litigation-focused practice areas products and industry facing groups.
Assist with explorations of generative AI and other cutting-edge approaches and technology related to improving practice efficiencies and client service.
Client-Facing Initiatives:
Work with the group and the marketing department to identify opportunities to develop business from new and existing clients and sectors through bespoke and targeted alerts articles and briefing notes and similar resources.
Identify and help run client seminars training initiatives and similar activities through direct liaison with clients.
Thought Leadership:
Write or help to coordinate the writing of articles for publication and generally enhance Greenburg Traurigs position within the litigation and international arbitration sector.
Monitor and keep the group informed about relevant developments and trends in the relevant law (including consultations and policy papers regarding prospective changes) caselaw regulations and/or market practice.
Proactively identify for discussion legal/policy/business developments of potential interest to the group.
Work with the information centre to maximise the value and use of significant practice-related current awareness and alerts from internal and external resources.
Help identify opportunities for the group to interact with other practice areas and other GT offices on thought leadership pieces.
Lawyer Training and Technical Expertise:
Assist the Practice Group Counsel to identify practice-related training needs and assist with meeting those needs and advise internally on technical issues.
Help develop and deliver legal training for associates and individual practitioners to assist them with locating practice-related internal and external knowledge.
Assist with monthly interactive know-how and refresher sessions to keep the group up to date with legal and market changes.
Organising and Sharing Standard Forms Document Collection and Process Maps:
Work with the Practice Group Counsel to create new and improve existing processes to capture practice-related knowledge content and encourage the sharing of information and knowledge generally.
Maintain electronic collection of practice-related knowledge resources which include England and Wales law-governed standard forms and accompanying notes precedent documents best practices and how-to memos legal research documents and other material useful to the group.
Help maintain knowledge related aspects of the groups intranet site.
Other:
Attend external training and conferences to keep up to date with relevant documentation in the law business environment and professional support.
Provide other knowledge support to the group as may be assigned by Practice Group Counsel.
Participate in regular litigation team meetings and meetings with the BD team.
Experience Skills and personal attributes:
Experience of practicing as a litigation/disputes lawyer or the equivalent from a boutique practice or the Bar.
Experience of both civil litigation and international arbitration would be advantageous.
Experience in using and assessing AI tools.
High professional standards with a passion for delivering a quality product.
Excellent drafting and research skills.
Well-developed organization and communication skills.
Understanding of different learning processes and methods of training.
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
