Job Description and Responsibilities
At EVRAZ North America we manufacture engineered steel products for rail energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland Oregon; Pueblo Colorado) and Canada (Regina Saskatchewan; Calgary Camrose and Red Deer Alberta). We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.
Reporting to the Director Maintenance Operations Regina the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees the installation repair and upkeep of mechanical systems and leads the maintenance team to ensure operational efficiency safety and compliance.
Supervise coordinate and schedule the activities of maintenance staff to ensure timely high-quality work.
Oversee installation maintenance and repair of mechanical machinery equipment and systems.
Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards defects or necessary repairs.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance training programs and schedules to enhance equipment reliability and safety.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards environmental regulations and company policies.
Assisting in procuring organizing and inventorying parts and materials needed for repairs
Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance tasks and minimize operational disruptions.
Provide training guidance and performance management for maintenance team members.
Document maintenance activities inspections repairs and generate technical reports.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in the mechanical field or a completed accredited apprenticeship/ Journeyperson;
5 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role and 2-5 years supervisory or lead experience in a union environment preferred
Knowledge of hydraulic systems pneumatics pressure vessels motorized drive systems
Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures as to safely isolate and secure equipment during maintenance or repair
Proficient in blueprint reading P&ID and troubleshooting of mechanical operations of equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and personnel scheduling
Strong leadership and communication skills
Must be available and flexible to be on call and work weekends when required
Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions
