Markem-Imaje is a trusted world manufacturer of product identification and traceability solutions offering a full line of reliable and innovative inkjet thermal transfer laser print and apply label systems. Markem-Imaje delivers fully integrated solutions that enable product quality and safety regulatory and retailer compliance better product recalls and improved manufacturing processes.
The Role:
The R&D engineer will be part of a global cross-disciplinary team inventing new technologies and developing new printers for Markem-Imaje. You will have the opportunity to work with talented engineers in a global environment building complex products from proof of concept to production across a variety of printing technologies targeted to meet our customers needs and the strategic objectives of Markem-Imaje.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop expertise in the technology of drop-on-demand hot melt inkjet printers
- Develop an understanding of the marking and coding applications of those printers
- Generate innovation and new intellectual property at the intersection of mechanical electrical and software engineering and of ink chemistry
- Develop and test new ideas and new designs for ink delivery systems pneumatic systems thermal management
- Use computational simulations and experimentation to validate those new ideas and designs
- Work with other engineers in other parts of the world to design and prototype new concepts
- Present designs and findings in brainstorming meetings design reviews and technical gate meetings
- Support transition to manufacturing by providing technical advice and analysing failures
- Develop expertise in the physics of jetting and the evaluation of print quality
- Follow and drive improvement of best practices and tools to improve team efficiency effectiveness and mechanical subsystem quality.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum bachelors degree in engineering or physics
- High level of self-motivation in a role with a lot of flexibility and opportunity for interesting technical work
- Expertise in design and testing of mechanical electronic thermal electromechanical pneumatic systems
- Experience in R&D within an industrial environment preferred
- Experience with numerical simulation and system modelling desirable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to define a path to solve complex problems share that vision and support the team for execution.
- Energizes persuades and influences others through personal credibility.

Work Arrangement : Onsite
Pay Range: $ - $annually
This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
