Bermex is expanding its Damage Prevention service line and we are seeking a knowledgeable driven Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help lead that effort. This individual will play a key role in helping Bermex grow its Damage Prevention services by building out processes training programs and operational best practices. The SME will serve as a technical advisor helping ensure our programs meet industry standards regulatory requirements and client expectations from the ground up.
***Compensation Range: This role offers a base salary between $100000 and $160000 which may vary based on geographic location relevant experience and skills. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process ***

What Youll Do
Damage Prevention Specialist
- Lead the development of processes procedures and operational playbooks for Bernexs emerging Damage Prevention service line.
- Act as the go-to technical resource for Damage Prevention strategies regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to design scalable effective workflows to support Damage Prevention operations.
- Conduct research on market requirements client expectations and regulatory landscapes to guide process development.
- Assist with building training materials job aids and safety protocols to support new and existing Damage Prevention teams.
- Participate in client meetings proposals and presentations to represent Bermexs Damage Prevention expertise.
- Support root cause analysis of utility damages and develop recommendations for prevention and process improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal state and local damage prevention regulations (e.g. 811 CGA Best Practices).
- Help establish performance metrics reporting standards and quality assurance programs.
- Collaborate across Bermex departments to ensure Damage Prevention processes align with broader operational goals.
- Represent Bermex at industry forums conferences and professional associations.
About You
Must haves:
- Education: High School Degree
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Damage Prevention utility locating construction inspection or underground infrastructure protection.
Nice to haves:
- Education: Associates Degree in related field
- Experience: 8 Years of experience in Damage Prevention utility locating construction inspection or underground infrastructure protection.
- Experience supporting new market launches or service expansions.
- Industry certifications (e.g. NULCA CGA Damage Prevention Professional OSHA 10/30).
- Familiarity with Bermex operations or similar utility service providers.
Your Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Damage Prevention utility locating construction inspection or underground infrastructure protection.
- Demonstrated experience developing operational processes procedures or programs in a utility services environment.
- Strong understanding of 811 systems state one-call laws and Common Ground Alliance (CGA) Best Practices.
- Experience building or improving safety and training programs for field operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence teams and clients.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks identify gaps and recommend practical solutions.
- Self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced growth-focused environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with GIS systems is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.
