THEROLE
We are currently seeking a Full Time DeliSupervisor to join our Root Cellar team! As a Deli Supervisor in our Chop Shopteam you will be responsible for assisting the Deli Management team inoverseeing aspects of daily department operations including delegating taskstraining and developing team members providing exemplary customer servicemodeling and enforcing store policies and assisting with the quality andpresentation of our curated selection of fresh and cured meats artisan cheesesand delicious house made salads. Our ideal candidate will have a passion forgreat local food and providing exceptional customer service. Previousexperience in the food industry is considered an asset but we are willing totrain the right person with the right attitude!
Work collaboratively with our Deli Management teamto lead and inspire Deli staff to ensure positive and memorable customerexperience.
- Supervise 3-5 Deli Clerks daily in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
- Assist the Deli Management Team in motivating training and developing staff.
- Support Deli Clerks in providing exemplary customer experience and high-quality deli products.
- Lead by example to uphold all company policies and procedures.
- Strict adherence to monitoring and following all food handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure appropriate rotation and storage of deli products according to food safety guidelines.
- Effectively respond to challenging situations in a positive and professional manner including proposing new ideas.

- Previous experience supervising staff in a grocery food specialty or deli environment.
- Well organized able to manage time efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong customer service skills a good communicator and the ability to relate with others.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs/22 kgs and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; morning evening and weekend shifts required.
