Local Candidates Accepted - Will Receive A Lower Local Rate ($5 less per hour than posted rate) Job Summary The Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) assists staff members withand contributes to the implementation of the total resident/patient plan ofcare which includes activities of daily living (eating dressing personalcare toileting) education recreation and transportation in accordance withestablished policies procedures and standards of the nursing department. The C.N.A is directly responsible to the RN/LPN team leader. The C.N.A maintains resident/patient privacy and confidentiality andperforms duties in compliance with BNRC s A Member of Covenant Healthpolicies and procedures. Education Requirements Must hold an active Maine C.N.A License Other Skill Required Assists with all resident/patient routine activities of daily living including: Feeding Bathing Ambulating Skin Care Demonstrates effective listening skills to provide support for resident/patient needs Ability to take initial vital signs and provide weights to nursing staff in a timely manner Responsible for reporting changes in vital signs or measurements promptly to the Supervisor/Charge Nurse Always follows procedures for Universal Precautions Monitors and promptly records resident/patient intake and output in accordance with unit standards or physician orders Maintains confidentiality of resident/patient related issues; supports resident/patient rights Maintains productive working relationship with healthcare team members Is a team player courteous diplomatic and tactful when interacting with others. Provides additional care as directed by the RN/LPN Assist with orientation of patient/resident/family to unit facility and services. Can deliver patient/resident care promptly and accurately as directed by the RN/LPN and in accordance with plan of care Ability to empathize with residents patients and families. Able to remain objective in difficult circumstances including interactions with demanding residents and patients Demonstrates flexibility when needed Seeks help and assists in developing solutions for problems Has a passion for working with long term care residents and skilled rehabilitation patients to provide excellent resident and patient care Covenant Health Mission Statement We are a Catholic health ministry providinghealing and care for the whole person in service to all in our communities.
