Description

The Cyber Digital Underwriting Team at Chubb is actively seeking a Renewal Underwriter to join their ranks. This position is primarily focused on underwriting Cyber & Tech E&O renewals specifically for commercial clients whose revenues are less than $100 million. As a renewal underwriter you will play a crucial role in assessing and underwriting cyber renewal accounts which involves a thorough analysis of applications supporting documents and third-party data to accurately determine risk this role you will evaluate various IT Security Controls including common security measures data protection protocols and potential vulnerabilities. This evaluation is essential for determining appropriate coverage limits and premiums for Chubb insureds. You will also collaborate closely with brokers and agents to gather underwriting information respond to inquiries and negotiate policy terms and conditions effectively. Your responsibilities will include binding coverage and documenting the underwriting files as well as managing an assigned territory or book of business. Additionally you will have the opportunity to participate in various projects or tasks that assist the team in achieving its goals. This position not only requires a keen analytical mindset but also exceptional communication skills to navigate the complexities of underwriting in the cyber insurance landscape.



Qualifications
Responsibilities
  • Assess and underwrite cyber renewals including analyzing applications supporting documents and third party data to determine risk exposure.
  • Evaluate IT Security Controls such as common security measures data protection protocols and potential vulnerabilities to determine appropriate coverage limits and premiums.
  • Collaborate with brokers and agents to understand insureds needs answer inquiries and negotiate policy terms and conditions.
  • Bind coverage and document the underwriting files.
  • Meet or exceed key performance metrics and goals while maintaining profitability across assigned portfolio and adhering to underwriting authority and strategies
  • Participate in projects or tasks to assist the team.
Requirements
  • 0-3 years of previous underwriting experience is highly desired.
  • Experience within cyber security is a plus.
  • Cyber/Tech E&O experience preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical ability to evaluate risks according to corporate underwriting guidelines.
  • Proven negotiation skills gained through established broker/client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to respond as a team player in a multi-tasking environment.
