Job Description

Job Summary

This position specialized in planning and carrying out broad assignments that lead to recommendations for change methods procedures or
policies. Develops plans and coordinates activities to achieved planned results. May be given full responsibility for planning and conducting
assignments of moderate complexity.

The responsibilities of this position include ownership of the chemistry laboratory instrumentation at Perry Nuclear Power Plant. The chemistry
laboratory instrumentation includes both wet chemistry and radiochemistry analyses. The position also includes the implementation of the
laboratory Quality Control Programs.

Key Accountabilities:

Coordinating the purchase testing and implementation of laboratory instrumentation
Coordinating the corrective and preventative maintenance program for laboratory instrumentation
Review and maintain laboratory Quality Control charts
Coordinating activities related to industry chemistry Quality Control programs
Database administrator for the chemistry database
Developing revising coordinating and implementing Chemistry programs as specified by the industry programs. This includes
revising program manuals procedures and representing Perry Nuclear Power
Plant and the Fleet at industry peer meetings
Performing walkdowns of plant systems reviewing and preparing reports
Providing support for online instrumentation associated all chemistry activities
Providing support on Boling Water Reactor (BWR) chemistry programs through review and analysis of chemistry data monitoring and maintaining chemistry performance parameters within technical and administrative limits
Communicating with Station management and other departments on chemistry issues
Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines
Reviewing trending and analysis of chemistry data
Managing special projects
Reinforcing safe work practices and participating in management observation programs as assigned to ensure site standards are adhered

Performing and maintaining qualifications for Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned

Qualifications:
At least 5 years previous professional experience involving chemistry laboratory instrumentation including Ion and Gas Chromatography Spectroscopy Methods Radiation Detection Methods and Polarography
High school diploma or GED required; Advanced Degree preferred
Strong communication organizational problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Strong computer skills
Strong commitment to working safely and positively contributing to a strong safety culture
Demonstrated proficiency and ability to solve scientific or technical problems
Ability to prepare reports and deliver presentations
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to plan analyze and schedule activities.
Demonstrated ability to function effectively with all levels of plant management
Should possess sound judgment and sensitivity.
Strong organizational skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word Excel PowerPoint and Access
Must reside within site-specific ERO response time
