We are seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to join our Service Delivery team of expert Surveyors. The successful candidate will support a wide range of vessel typesincluding tankers bulk carriers cruise ships container vessels and yachtsoperating in ports across our region.

The role

  • Carry out surveys on ships in service to verify compliance with Lloyds Register Classification and Statutory requirements.
  • Communicate survey outcomes effectively with internal and external clients presenting deliverables such as certificates and reports and offering technical solutions where applicable.
  • Provide expert advice and technical recommendations to clients on matters related to hull and machinery.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with Lloyds Register procedures relevant legislation accreditation schemes and industry standards while meeting corporate KPIs.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical authorisations through required training and ongoing compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within service delivery by participating in relevant projects and process enhancements.
  • Contribute to commercial activities by assessing the scope time and value of work and recommending appropriate fee structures for external clients.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain a high standard of knowledge discipline and technical awareness.
  • Perform necessary administrative duties in line with internal office procedures.

What you bring

  • A degree in naval architecture mechanical engineering marine engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the maritime industry ideally within a classification society shipping company or shipyard.
  • Foundational knowledge and practical experience with classification rules and statutory regulations including SOLAS MARPOL MLC and related requirements.
  • Sea-going experience as a certificated ships engineering officer is considered a strong advantage.
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution.
  • Actively working towards or having obtained Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or equivalent such as with the Technical Chamber of Greece).
  • Commitment to working in line with the professional codes of ethics upheld by Lloyds Register and IACS.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
