Job Description

Job Description Summary

As a Protection & Control Engineer (f/m/d) for high-voltage substations (GIS and/or AIS) you will contribute to the development implementation and commissioning of advanced systems. This includes integrating protection and control systems into higher-level automation architectures. Your technical expertise plays a key role in the successful execution of projects and in ensuring the safe reliable and efficient operation of substations.

Job Description

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the sales team during the bidding phase particularly in analyzing technical requirements from tenders
  • Plan and implement protection and control systems for GIS or AIS substations in compliance with applicable standards norms and customer specifications using common CAD tools (e.g. Ruplan Engineering Base)
  • Integrate and configure protection and control solutions
  • Contribute to system design and coordinate technical interfaces
  • Create and adapt typicals and wiring diagrams based on single-line diagrams (SLD)
  • Select and dimension all necessary components (e.g. control cabinets low-voltage cables) and coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Support the procurement team in evaluating technical offers and selecting suppliers
  • Execute or support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Participate in international on-site commissioning activities
  • Collaborate closely with project teams customers suppliers and internal departments
  • Ensure compliance with project quality schedule and budget objectives

Your Profile Key Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with a focus on secondary technology
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the protection and control technology of high-voltage substations (GIS and/or AIS)
  • Proven experience with common CAD tools (e.g. Ruplan Engineering Base)
  • Good understanding of electrical installations and switchgear configurations
  • Fluent English skills both written and spoken
  • Experience in the energy sector ideally in power generation or transmission

Additional Qualifications (preferred):

  • Knowledge of modern protection and control technologies
  • Experience in the technical leadership of engineering activities particularly in EPC or turnkey projects
  • Hands-on experience with FAT/SAT testing and international commissioning of automation systems
