The FlashArray Team builds the industrys most innovative high-performance and highly available portfolio of products that are designed for the most demanding mission critical applications. While we deliver a hardware storage array over 90% of our engineering staff are software engineers. Our customers are the most important part of our business and they love FlashArray for its simplicity of management the constant flow of new and exciting upgrades and ability to live on the cutting edge of technology while never taking downtime ever. Most recently we extended the value of our FlashArray capabilities into the cloud with CloudSnap and Cloud Block Store for AWS. These new innovations enable our customers to leverage the agility of the public cloud for both traditional IT and cloud-native applications.

The DFM Firmware Team plays a crucial role in designing and developing the Direct Flash Module (DFM) a key module of Pures Flasharray and Flashblade enterprise storage solutions. The DFM is an internally designed enterprise storage device using the NAND flash technology. Compared with the off-the-shelf SSD the DFM has the competitive advantage of simplicity high performance low cost and scalability.

As a leader of the DFM firmware team youll have rare opportunities to work across various domains including the entire data path NAND media management and low-level hardware interfaces. Our firmware design enables us to quickly integrate the latest NAND technologies from various vendors. We were pioneers in adopting QLC for enterprise storage solutions releasing the first QLC DFM in 2019. Our proprietary media management policies and algorithms position Pure as a leader in enabling QLC NAND in the enterprise storage industry.

Youll work closely with the Purity software hardware NAND and drive qualification teams. This offers a unique opportunity to learn the latest technologies including the newest generations of NAND NVMe/PCIe as well as SSD controllers. Firmware development opens doors to experiences in embedded software design hardware and system integration. Youll develop a comprehensive understanding and gain insights into the entire product development and release process.

We are looking for a hands-on technically strong and highly organized Firmware CI & Quality manager to lead a growing team focused on CI infrastructure test automation firmware quality and release processes. You will play a critical role in enabling scalable and high-quality DFM firmware development across multiple product lines (FlashArray FlashBlade and Hyperscale).

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence process rigor and team leadership and who can drive improvements in productivity quality and execution at scale.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the development and maintenance of firmware test pipelines test automation and CI/CD integration.
  • Drive escalation triage and root cause coordination with clear issue tracking and timely communication.
  • Own and lead the firmware release process: planning quality gates reviews postmortems and release execution across all firmware branches.
  • Define and enforce best practices for planning testing and release execution in close collaboration with TPMs QA support and engineering leaders.
  • Build and manage a high-impact team focused on test infrastructure stability execution visibility and continuous improvement.

What You Bring To The Team...

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • 7 years of experience in firmware or software development with at least 2 years in engineering management or technical leadership.
  • Deep understanding of firmware/software release workflows CI/CD systems and engineering quality processes.
  • Strong organizational skills high attention to detail and a passion for execution rigor and team enablement.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA Jenkins Git and dashboarding frameworks.
  • Excellent communicator and collaboratorable to work effectively across regions functions and leadership levels.
  • Experience in storage embedded systems or SSD firmware is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Salary ranges are determined based on role level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is:

$193000 - $290000 USD
