About the Role

Babcock is looking for an experienced and dynamic Commercial Officer to support our Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM) contract delivering fleet asset management services to the Royal Australian Navy at Garden Island NSW. This is a pivotal role in a significant maritime programan opportunity to shape operational strategic and commercial outcomes that keep Australias defence capabilities mission-ready.

Youll work closely with our Program Commercial Manager Marine Business Unit and broader commercial function to optimise commercial outcomes navigate contractual obligations manage risks and build strong relationships with our partners and suppliers. The role covers everything from contract management and governance to change initiatives compliance and stakeholder engagementensuring we meet high standards while fostering collaboration and commercial excellence.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Degree/Bachelor/Masters in Business Commence Law or similar.
  • Relevant experience in contracts subcontracts procurement supply chain finance or program/project management preferably in a Defence context and/ or large corporate environment.
  • A passion for written communications creativity with attention to detail and accuracy and a desire to deliver complex high-quality business outcomes
  • Sound understanding of legal principles.
  • Experience of engaging with national and international customers and suppliers.
