Technical Specialist IIin GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
DUTIES: Guide successful completion of major engineering programs particularly programs related to Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) High-Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) and lightning design and certification. Conceive research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of company products and services. Select appropriate methods techniques and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues. Be consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field. Anticipate and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Approach problem solving by balancing technical product cost and schedule. Work without appreciable direction having work reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results. Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments. Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field required. Ten years of experience in job offered or a related engineering position required including any experience with: aircraft characterization of HIRF and indirect effects of lightning (IEL); certifying part 25 aircraft to HIRF/IEL regulations; HIRF/IEL regulatory requirements and associated guidance material (AC 20-136 and 20-158); defining and supporting EMI/EMC qualification testing of complex components and systems; the full certification cycle of multiple aircraft models from design specification certification planning and execution (including with new designs) to product modification/modernization; different program phases including initial studies and quotations product definition detailing testing and requirements compliance demonstration and certification; 14 CFR Part 25 compliance requirements and certification activities including 25.581 25.1309 25.and 25.1431; multiple international certification authorities including ANAC (Brazil) EASA (Europe) JCAB (Japan) and the FAA; and with serving as a Compliance Verification Engineer in a design organization supporting the certification lieu of a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field and ten years of experience Employer will accept a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field and eight years of the above-listed experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field and six years of the above-listed experience.
