Description Of Job Duties
Assist with the planning strategic outreach and communications implementation and coordination of Transfer Center and events for new transfer students. Coordinate staffing to ensure daily coverage of the Transfer Center in collaboration with Student Success staff. Assist with communication with Transfer Faculty Mentors and other campus partners. Maintain database of currently enrolled transfer student to track outreach efforts engagement and retention. Assist with assessment and data collection related to transfer initiatives. Maintain Transfer Center social media strategies and internal and external website management. Assist in planning and implementation of special transfer-related events including but not limited to Transfer Student Week (3rd week of October) and Community College Month (April). Order food materials or other items as budget allows to promote transfer student social integration and events. Represent the Transfer Center during Admission events such as Campus Visit Days Admitted Student Days. Coordinate the Transfer Orientations with the Success Team and Transfer Center Student Workers and Cardinal Transition Coordinators. Maintain updated list of NC Faculty & Staff who were transfer students. Assist with updates maintenance and distribution of NCs Transfer Student Guide. Work collaboratively with the other Graduate Assistants for Student Success initiatives as needed. Complete special projects and tasks as assigned.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Able to take initiative use sound judgment resolve problems diplomatically and work effectively independently and cooperatively with all levels of staff and students. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with transfer students and campus partners. Demonstrate effective writing communication and project management skills. Able to work under tight deadlines with short turnarounds. Able to think strategically listen carefully communicate and advocate effectively. Able to work autonomously and as a team member. Able to break an assigned project down into parts establish timelines and follow tasks through to quality completion Strong knowledge of Office365 Canvas NC HUB and Self-Service and Student Planning. Students in this GA position will have daily opportunities to refine their leadership project management event planning and strategic communication/outreach skills through. These daily interactions create opportunities for problem solving conflict resolution relationship building increasing engagement among constituents and providing constructive feedback all important skills for any leadership position. Additionally the GA will gain experience in database management project management and collaboration with other institutional units.
