Position Title: Senior Manager Corporate Tax

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Manager Corporate Tax. Reporting to the Director Global Tax Operations this successful candidate will lead quarterly global tax provision consolidation and manage Canadian tax compliance and audit support for our multinational operations. This role is central to ensuring timely and accurate tax reporting effective audit management and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in tax accounting under IFRS deep knowledge of Canadian corporate taxation and a track record of deploying operational efficiencies in complex environments.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quarterly and Annual Tax Provision (Global Focus):

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of the quarterly and annual global income tax provision under IFRS.
  • Coordinate with regional tax and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of current and deferred taxes.
  • Review and validate tax calculations provision entries tax account reconciliations and financial statement disclosures.
  • Collaborate with corporate finance and external auditors during quarterly close cycles to support provision accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation supporting the provision process.

Canadian Tax Compliance and Audit Support:

  • Manage and review Canadian corporate income tax filings (T2 returns) including federal and provincial schedules and disclosures.
  • Oversee Canadian tax estimates installments and related forms (e.g. T106 T1134).
  • Monitor and interpret legislative changes and their impact on compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Lead Canadian tax audit support coordinating responses and documentation for CRA and provincial tax authorities.
  • Ensure Canadian transfer pricing compliance including preparation or review of required documentation.

Process Improvement and Operational Efficiency:

  • Identify and deploy process improvements across tax provision and compliance functions to drive consistency accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead automation initiatives and enhance integration between tax systems finance platforms and reporting tools.
  • Support standardization of tax workflows and enhance the reliability of tax data through system and process enhancements.
  • Maintain detailed tax process documentation and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support:

  • Collaborate with Finance Legal and external advisors to support audits business initiatives and internal projects.
  • Provide tax reporting insights and compliance impact analysis to support planning and advisory initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA CA designation required; Master of Taxation or In-Depth Tax Course preferred.
  • 10 years of relevant corporate tax experience including public accounting (Big Four preferred) and/or in-house roles.
  • Strong expertise in preparing and consolidating quarterly tax provisions under IFRS.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian corporate tax laws compliance requirements and audit processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and enhance tax operational workflows.
  • Experience with tax software and ERP systems (e.g. OneSource Corptax SAP Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage competing deadlines in a global environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Hands-on experience supporting CRA and provincial tax audits.
  • Familiarity with multinational tax environments and intercompany reporting.
  • Proactive solutions-driven and detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
