JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Responsible for meeting with customers to determine electric needs and requirements. Design jobs to install replace or remove distribution facilities to support customer requests reliability projects or infrastructure improvement.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Designer I
Requires one of the following
a. Bachelors degree (any disciple) OR
b.2-year Technical Associates degree OR
c.1-year Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience OR
d.> 2 years of Electric Utility field operational experience (Transmission Line or Substation Distribution Line or Service Field Metering) OR
Department Sr. Managers (or above) approval in lieu of all requirements
Designer II
Requires 2 years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience AND
one of the following
a. Bachelors degree (any disciple) OR
b.2-year Technical Associates degree OR
c.2 additional years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience OR
d.> 2 years of Electric Utility field operational experience (Transmission Line or Substation Distribution Line or Service Field Metering) OR
Department Sr. Managers (or above) approval in lieu of all requirements
Designer III
Requires 4 years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience AND
One of the following
a. Bachelors degree (any disciple) OR
b. 2-year Technical Associates degree OR
c. 2 additional years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience OR
d. > 2 years of Electric Utility field operational experience (Transmission Line or Substation Distribution Line or Service Field Metering) OR
Department Sr. Managers (or above) approval in lieu of all requirements
Designer Sr
Requires 6 years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience AND
One of the following
a. Bachelors degree (any disciple) OR
b. 2-year Technical Associates degree OR
c. 2 additional years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience OR
d. > 2 years of Electric Utility field operational experience (Transmission Line or Substation Distribution Line or Service Field Metering) OR
Department Sr. Managers (or above) approval in lieu of all requirements
Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required of the position
Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills. Good knowledge of personal computer operations and related software. Basic theory of electricity. Ability to interpret construction drawings. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities. Ability to work well under pressure. Self-motivated and dependable team player. Good math skills. Familiar with National Electrical Safety Code and National Electrical Code. Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures. Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and mitigate the hazards. Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets. Ability to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service. Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base. Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement.
Any certificates licenses etc. required for the position
Must have valid drivers license and good driving record.
