Reporting to the Manager Process Engineering First & Last Mile the Process the Engineering Specialist I role is responsible for administrative duties related to systems supporting sort automation.
- Create and update spatial layers using ArcGIS online
- Develop business processes for support and administration activities
- Govern updates to production database
- Support operations with sort automation related activities
Responsibilities
- Creating maps reports and other visual representations of spatial data using GIS software
- Maintaining and administering GIS software databases and other technical platforms
- Providing technical support to users of GIS systems and software
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of spatial data within the GIS database
- May be involved in the planning implementation and management of GIS projects
- Working with other professionals and teams to integrate geospatial data into workflows and projects
- Responding to user requests for information and mapping solutions
- Troubleshooting GIS software and hardware issues
- Developing and implementing GIS standards and procedures
Job Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in transportation industry
Education
- Bachelors degree in Geomatics
Skill
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS QGIS or others.
- Strong understanding of spatial data management principles and techniques.
- Experience with database management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with programming languages like Python or SQL
