The SPLCs Legal Department is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal who is committed to social justice!
SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy strengthen intersectional movements and advance the human rights of all people. The Senior Litigation Paralegal role will provide litigation support in Southern Poverty Law Centers Legal Department. The Senior Litigation Paralegal will assist with research related to litigation case development and/or projects related to the mission of the Center. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task and maintain a high level of organization in a fast-paced environment; excel working both as a team member and independently on projects; demonstrate good written and oral communication skills; exhibit resilience creativity and flexibility; and have a proven ability to quickly learn and integrate new information and skills. The Senior Litigation Paralegal will initially be assigned to work within a specific Advocacy and Litigation Impact Team (ALIT) but will likely transition to work on matters relating to any of the Centers four strategic impact areas.
Experienced.Demonstrated experience as a paralegal or legal researcher which includes the ability to review analyze and cite check documents.
Adaptable. Ability to adjust quickly in response to case updates or changes.
Analytical. Demonstrated experience with the ability to analyze and problem solve.
Communicative. Ability to confidently communicate verbally and written across lines of differences.
Technology Skilled. Experience utilizing various software applications and databases to maintain and update case files and legal documentation.
Collaborative.Demonstrated ability to work with internal teams and external organizations to support litigation.
Organized. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing legal support to the legal department.

Assist attorney(s) with case management and support.
Maintain and manage case files and documents in database and review databases.
Conduct research related to litigation/legal case development verify evidence and investigate facts.
Prepare legal filings and briefs add Tables of Authority and Table s of Contents and perform cite-checking proofreading exhibit preparation and electronic filing.
Coordinate dispositions including scheduling calendaring and retaining court reporter services.
Assist with discovery projects upload organize and review key information.
Prepare exhibits case law/pleading binders and case correspondence for deposition hearings and trials.
Obtain and communicate accurate court rules procedures and admissions.
Train and mentor legal staff as needed.
Performother duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

This is a non-exempt role and the minimum starting salary is $64202 annually ($30.87 hourly).

This role the following work designations options:
Local Remote:Will work remotely but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
Telework:Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.
This position will report to the Senior Supervising Litigation Paralegal.
This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
