Job Description

DESCRIPTION: Southeastern Regional is seeking a Ch. 74 Robotics and Automation teacher to begin a new program. Preferred candidates will hold a Chapter 74 Robotics and Automation license or meet the qualifications to obtain one. Satisfactory CORI Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification Services (SAFIS) and SORI required. Bilingual preferred.

OUR STUDENTS:Southeastern is a diverse multicultural vocational technical high school which serves over 1700 students. The students balance the rigors of a complete academic course of studies with technical skill training in over 20 career majors. Our students are prepared for college career and/or additional technical training.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Map all curriculum to the Massachusetts Robotics and Automation Frameworks including but not limited to;
    • Robotics and Automation Technology Safety Health and Skills Tools and instrumentation Engineering Design Process Technical Communications Mechanical Concepts Electrical Concepts Fundamentals of Sensor Technologies Programmable Logic Controller Foundations and Programming Concepts Robotics Technology Automated Systems etc.
  • Provide instruction in the content following the Massachusetts Vocational-Technical Frameworks in the specified career area.
  • Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting.
  • Instruct students in the shop classroom or field when participating in District projects.
  • Document student performance student behavior and student achievement within the career education setting.
  • Provides review and reinforcement of new concepts; supports students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of students IEPs as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments tests and quizzes in collaboration with special educators if required.
  • Develop resources for students to be successful such as models graphic organizers copies of class notes video clips demonstrations etc.
  • Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department.
  • Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are cross-curricular and project-based.
  • Collaborate with the Vocational Supervisor/Cooperative Education Coordinator to place students in their career areas.
  • Maintain documentation including student performance behavior progress data notation of student absences/tardies and conversations with parents and administrators.
  • Provide content support outside of the general education classroom as necessary.
  • Integrate technology into the curriculum.
  • Respond to any correspondence both oral and written that comes from a parent or guardian.
  • Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
  • Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House.
  • Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Board members.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Vocational Supervisor(s).
  • Design the 9-12 curriculum order materials and equipment set up both underclassmen and upperclassmen shops/labs and assist with instruction in Engineering Precision Machine and other applicable programs as needed during the 2025-2026 school year.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience safely using tools and equipment used in the Robotics and Automation industry.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines and carry out initiatives as assigned by your supervisor(s).
  • Strong technology skills.
  • Ability to be flexible with job assignments and performance responsibilities.
  • Willingness to teach all grade levels (9-12) in-house live work around the building or off-campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Chapter 74 Preliminary Robotics and Automation Vocational Technical Teacher License
    1. (or the ability to meet the licensure requirements)

Robotics and Automation Technology Chapter 74 Qualifications

Preliminary Vocational Technical Teacher License

  • Associates degree or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught
  • Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to robotics and automation technology
  • Passing score of at least 70% on each test (written test and performance test) in robotics and automation technology

One of the following:

  • achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test
  • achieve a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills Test

COMPENSATION:Teachers are school-year employees paid in 21 or 26 equal installments from September - June (or August if 26 pays).
