Other Available Locations: Illinois
Hourly Rate/Salary Range: $1192.80 -$1315.20/week plus production bonus)
Production positions are paid a base hourly rate along wth a production bonus which is calculated based on the amount of quality tons produced and paid weekly.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Nucor Steel Kankakee is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Melt Shop Day Supervisor. The responsibilities of the Melt Shop Supervisor will include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the overall growth and development of the Melt Shop Team and will work with other departments to ensure consistency and long term success of the division. This will include cultivating a culture of ownership engagement and teamwork to drive continuous improvement. This position will support our goal to take care of our customers by improving safety environmental efforts quality costs productivity and profitability. The Melt Shop Day Supervisor will serve as a resource for the Melt Shop Team while establishing expectations develop best practices for the area and ensure addition this position will also participate in long term strategic planning for the Melt Shop.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of Melt Shop experience in a leadership role or minimum 10 years of Melt Shop experience in a technical role
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Refractory EAF or Caster experience
Previous supervisory experience
Bachelors degree in engineering (preferably Metallurgical Materials Science or Chemical)
