Job Title: Quality Technician- NDT Level II Inspector
Job Code: 26156
Job Location: Norfolk VA
Schedule: 5/40 Monday thrugh Friday
Job Description:
L3 Harris is seeking an experienced NDT Level II Inspector in Visual Testing (VT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) to join our Norfolk VA team.
Essential Functions:
- Perform Visual Testing (VT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) weld inspections.
- Perform welding inspections per NAVSEA and AWS standards.
- Oversee NDT resources across multiple facilities providing support to sub-contract vendors and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Perform inspections of work areas and other quality assessments.
- Review and finalize records at the conclusion of each work package for storage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in Visual Testing (VT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) of welds preferably with NAVSEA experience
- Proficient use of weld inspection tools including weld gauges NDT equipment and micrometers
- ASNT Level II certification in Visual Testing (VT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) or the ability to obtain it.
- Capable of interpreting technical data blueprints and specifications
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system a plus
- NBPI and NACE certifications preferred but not required.
- Costpoint experience preferred.
- Excellent communication interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently while promoting change within the organization.
