Within EY Parthenon the Transaction Real Estate team is one of the largest integrated real estate practices in Canada providing strategy valuation and transaction services to real estate owners developers investors lenders and users. Our national practice helps address complex and demanding challenges drawing upon our knowledge experience and insight to help clients implement their real estate strategy. We offer a diverse service offering that includes the following:

• Strategic Advisory Services
  • We help clients to achieve their potential from development to disposition of assets and all steps in between including oversight governance highest and best use andportfolio rationalization.
• Valuation Advisory Services
  
  • Our team has been involved with some of the largest and most challenging real estate valuations for the purposes of disposition purchase price allocation of multi-billion dollar transactions shareholder disputes butterfly transactions litigation and restructuring.
• Transaction Advisory Services
  
  • We provide an integrated service offering that supports the client through every step of the transaction process from strategy development through to transactionexecution and closing.

Objective and independent our clients consider us to be their trusted business advisors by acting as the gateway to the full breadth of services offered by EY.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of financial models.
• Valuation of various types of real estate assets and portfolios in support of various types of engagements including core valuation/appraisals litigation due-diligence and transactions.
• Synthesize market information to be used in valuation appraisals competitive analysis industry analysis negotiation support and various other applications.
• Compiling and analyzing relevant company and industry information originating from a broad variety of sources (such as financial databases industry publications financial statements and public disclosures)
• Continuous review of Canadian real estate market trends.
• Support the team in the preparation of both internal and external presentations.
• Support the team in business development and marketing initiatives across the country.
• Willingness to support a broad range of advisory and transaction mandates where valuation and underwriting expertise is required.

Ideal qualifications for this position include

• 3 to 5 years of experience in the real estate industry
• An AACI designation or active enrolment as an AIC candidate working towards the AACI designation is required
• Experience with various types of real estate including retail industrial office multi-family and land
• Undergraduate degree (preferably with a focus on real estate and/or finance)
• A strong understanding of the commercial real estate industry in Canada
• Working knowledge of Argus is an asset
• Strong project management skills
• Strong computer and financial modeling skills
• Understanding of key real estate value drivers risks and opportunities
• Ability to work in a team environment

The successful candidate for this position will have strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills superior analytical skills demonstrated project and/or people management skills and have been recognized for their participatory attitude and high levels of creative energy and enthusiasm.
