Note: This position can be filled as an Engineer II III or Sr. based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. The selected candidate must be available for after-hours call out. The selected candidate if not local will need to relocate for this role. relocation assistance is NOT available for this posting.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

In both the office and in the field performs a wide variety of planning maintenance design engineering project management and construction and operations activities related to routine non-routine and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design operations and maintenance planning asset management reliability computer applications safety and root cause failure analysis.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning maintenance design project management and construction and operations
  • Uses engineering/technical principles best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues to solve problems develop cost-effective technically sound solutions and improve products or services
  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles in evaluating alternatives making decisions and interpreting/employing applicable electrical codes procedures standards processes and policies
  • Supports activities to comply with applicable industry standards (i.e. NESC NERC SERC) and other utility regulations as required
  • Works with other disciplines within the Transmission organization and other company business units to achieve stated goals
  • Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering discipline (typically Electrical Mechanical Civil Chemical and Industrial) from a four-year accredited institution
  • Preferred:Bachelors degree in mechanical or civil engineering from a four-year accredited institution

Minimum Experience:

  • Engineer II:2 yearsof experience (1 year with masters degree)
  • Engineer III:4 years of experience (3 years with a BS and a FE or a MS Engineering)
  • Engineer Senior:6 years of experience (5 years with masters degree and a PE or PMP)

Minimum Skills Knowledge & abilities for this position:

  • Project management/project engineer skills
  • Meeting management
  • Strong Business Computer Application Skills
  • Highly preferred: Proficiency in PLS CADD (highly preferred)
