The Program Coordinator works closely with staff and student members of the CSEIB team to plan and implement a wide range of student activities to foster a strong sense of campus community. The work of the Coordinator focuses in particular on creating evening and weekend events on campus that engage students and promote a sense of belonging. CSEIB programming contributes to a culture of student success and persistence on campus. The Program Coordinator collaborates with other offices to plan and support student activities and campus events.

Essential Functions:
The following list of duties is meant to be representative of the work performed in this position. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar related or a logical extension of position responsibilities.

  • Plan promote implement and evaluate campus activities that enhance the campus community and provide social educational and cultural opportunities for students.
  • Oversee annual major campus events for students including Welcome Back Weekend Homecoming Family and Friends Weekend Siblings Overnight etc.
  • Hire train and supervise the student programming board ensuring proper risk management and supervision.
  • Provide ongoing training leadership development and mentorship to interns and student leaders.
  • Collaborate with campus departments and external partners to coordinate logistics and resources for events.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
  • Manage all CSEIB social media platforms to promote programs and foster student engagement.
  • Supervise a student intern involved in social media and marketing efforts.
  • Develop execute and assess marketing strategies to ensure the visibility and success of programs.
  • As part of the CSEIB team coach students in their social leadership and academic development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Demonstrated experience with event planning and management; strong preference for experience in the higher education setting
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships engage in creative problem solving and extend enlightened hospitality when working with others
  • Demonstrated commitment to a student- and learning-centered environment
  • Availability to implement and support evening and weekend events
  • Intercultural competency and the ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide variety of students faculty administration staff community members and outside vendors
  • Ability to manage budgets and use appropriate software for managing information
  • Ability to respond appropriately to a variety of student concerns of a sensitive or confidential nature

Salary Range: $34000 to $44000 commensurate with education and experience
