You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe MFAHs Department of Learning and Interpretation develops programs materials and other opportunities that engage intergenerational audiences and students with the Museums collections and exhibitions of world art. The Museums school tour program is administered through the Object-based Learning area of Learning and Interpretation. Led by highly trained volunteer docents over 35000 students and chaperones participate in docent-led tours each year. The docent corps consists of 110 volunteers who lead gallery experiences for K-12 students that encourage visitors of all ages to respond to and reflect on original works of art in the Museums permanent collection and exhibitions.
Working collaboratively with the Tour Programs Assistant the school tour greeter is the primary day-of contact for K-12 guided and self-guided tours for teachers docents and bus drivers. This position works to ensure that students teachers and docents have support and organization for each guided and self-guided school tour and the program is functioning at a high level of logistical organization and hospitality. The school-tour greeter acts as the liaison to other MFAH front line staff including guest services security and group sales.
