The Multnomah County Sheriffs Office (MCSO) Planning & Research Unit (P&R) is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Power Platform Developer to support public safety operations by delivering impactful user-friendly applications and data solutions. Youll be part of a mission-driven remote-friendly team that values innovation continuous learning and inclusive collaboration.
In this role you will be a key contributor to our Data & Reporting Initiative (DRI) developing high-impact high-visibility tools that support data collection streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities across the organization. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams to design build and maintain Power Apps solutions and ETL processes that enable our analytics environment and support data-informed decision making.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with an analytical mindset who is customer service-oriented possesses excellent communication skills is organized and has a proactive attitude ensuring a positive and seamless experience for our customers.
Your primary responsibilities would include:
- Design build and maintain Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps applications that meet user needs and business objectives. Youll collaborate with public safety staff to gather business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Develop test and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure accurate and secure data integration using SQL Server APIs and Power Platform connectors.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and manage application development throughout the full project lifecycle. Youll coordinate with operational technical and analytical staff to conceptualize and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Audit validate and troubleshoot data issues; ensure data integrity resolve issues and document findings.
- Provide technical support to users; conduct training sessions to ensure adoption and effectiveness; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Stay current on Power Platform best practices and identify opportunities to improve or streamline existing tools and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To Qualify:
We will consider any combination of relevant work experience volunteering education and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item or section is labeled required. Please be clear and specific about how your background is relevant.
Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Additional qualifying experience may be considered as a substitute for education on a year for year basis.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience developing low-code applications and delivering technical solutions using Microsoft Power Apps.
- Must pass a criminal records and employment references check.
Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills*: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Please clearly explain on your application how you meet any of the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills.
- Experience developing both Canvas and Model-Driven applications in Power Apps.
- Familiarity with Power Platform ALM best practices and tools (e.g. solutions pipelines version control).
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-100 PL-200 PL-400 PL-600 or PL-900.
- Experience administering Power Apps environments (e.g. managing permissions environments connectors).
- Proficient in T-SQL and experience building or maintaining ETL workflows.
- Comfortable working with APIs data connectors and data transformation/validation techniques.

- Question 3: Please provide an example of how youve supported diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) in a technical or team setting.

Additional Information:

Salary: $51.03- $62.81 per hour.
Type of Position: Hourly Local 88 Represented Non-Exempt.
Location: This position has a short onsite training period at the beginning of employment. After the training period this position is designated as routine telework meaning you will be working remotely (from home); a hybrid schedule also is available. As with all routine telework positions employees may be required to come into the office on occasion. The designation of Routine Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location for this position is Multnomah Building 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Portland OR 97214.
Schedule: Position is full-time (40 hours per week 8-hour shifts). The work schedule is Monday-Friday day shift. Schedule details will be determined with the manager and alternative work schedules are available after the probationary period.

However actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law and will take into account factors such as the candidates relevant experience and education.
