Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 9 weeks

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background particularly in emergency care and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Nurse you will play a critical role in patient assessment treatment and education ensuring that all patients receive the best possible care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Assess residents conditions and respond promptly to changes in health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Document all nursing services provided using facility charting systems.
- Work collaboratively with other nurses CNAs and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ensure a clean safe and supportive environment for residents.
Requirements
- Active RN in Maine or Compact state
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
- Availability for night shift (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Commitment to the full 9-week contract
- Ability to work 36 hours per week
Preferred Experience
- Previous travel nursing or contract assignment experience
- Strong documentation and electronic charting skills
- Excellent communication and time management abilities

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine individual needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed including IV insertion and catheterization.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a Level II trauma center to provide comprehensive emergency care.
- Operate medical imaging equipment and assist in sterile processing of instruments.
- Monitor patients vital signs and report any significant changes to the medical team.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities to enhance nursing skills.
Skills
- Proficient in emergency room procedures and protocols.
- Strong ability to perform catheterization with precision.
- Familiarity with operating within a Level II trauma center environment.
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques for medical instruments.
- Understanding of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation.
- Experience with operating room (OR) procedures is advantageous.
- Competence in medical imaging technology and its applications in patient care.
- Ability to perform IV insertion effectively and safely.
- Physical capability to lift patients as needed while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with attention to detail.
