Job Description

Job Title: Senior Associate (Hybrid)

Location: Washington DC

Duration: Fulltime

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group. This opportunity is available in the firms Atlanta Denver San Francisco Seattle St. Louis Washington DC Houston Kansas City or Phoenix offices with a strong preference for candidates based in Washington DC or San Francisco.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering computer engineering software engineering computer science or physics
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to GPUs TPUs accelerators neural engines and robotics circuitry
  • High level of academic achievement and prior Am Law or equivalent law firm experience
  • Excellent writing analytical and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prosecute high-quality U.S. and international patent applications
  • Manage and supervise patent portfolios for a diverse technology-focused client base
  • Mentor and oversee junior associates providing guidance and training
  • Ensure timely strategic and accurate patent filings aligned with client goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional legal and technical teams on IP strategy
  • This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced patent attorney to work on cutting-edge technologies within a highly regarded collaborative legal environment.

Skills and Certifications note: bold skills and certification are required

  • Minimum of six years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution

Ideal Candidate:

  • Candidates must have big law or similar experience very strong academics and a stable resume (no temp/contact/freelance or jumpy backgrounds will be considered).
