We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support the Expungement Section. This role involves reviewing court-ordered expungements handling inquiries professionally and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills the ability to handle confidential information and experience with legal or administrative processes.
Answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner without establishing an attorney-client relationship.
Provide assistance where possible direct callers to the Expungement website or email take messages or route calls to appropriate ISP departments.
Collect mail from the mailroom and deliver it to the ISP Legal Office Paralegal.
Review court-ordered expungements and match information with data in the Criminal History Records Information System (CHRIS).
Identify cause numbers for expungement and process records accordingly.
Conduct factual and legal research.
Serve as a liaison between internal ISP departments and external agencies such as courts and the FBI.
Prepare organize and coordinate legal documents and related productions.
High school diploma or GED.
Paralegal certification or comparable legal work experience (minimum 1 year).
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite email systems).
Must be at least 18 years old.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
