Job Description
We re seeking a seasoned High Risk Project Manager to join a Project Management Center of Excellence (PM COE) supporting highly visible and strategically critical projects. This role is focused on managing enterprise-level risks delivering program assurance and shaping statewide project management standards across agency and local government initiatives.
You ll be responsible for managing complex IT and business transformation projects developing risk reporting tools leading governance-aligned initiatives and mentoring agency project teams on high-risk engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple high-risk projects throughout the full lifecycle (initiation through closeout)
Support development of PM COEs mission charter needs assessments and training content
Create and implement tools for risk management reporting and dashboards
Provide mentorship and advisory support for high-risk project teams across state/local agencies
Coordinate stakeholders across public agencies third-party suppliers and governance bodies
Identify assess and mitigate program-level risks and systemic project delivery challenges
Monitor progress budgets risks and deliverables to ensure timely and compliant execution
Requirements
Required Experience & Qualifications
5 years experience managing projects with budgets over $10 million
5 years experience in portfolio management including program-level planning and alignment
5 years experience using Microsoft Project or other commercial PM tools
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in high-risk and high-visibility environments
Active PMP Certification must be uploaded to be considered
Strong interpersonal communication and executive stakeholder engagement skills
