Job Description
Job Title: 3D Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed 3D CAD models and drawings based on client specifications and engineering standards.
Collaborate with project engineers and product development teams to translate ideas into functional designs.
Conduct design feasibility studies analyse dimensions and ensure designs meet functional and safety requirements.
Prepare detailed assembly drawings exploded views and bill of materials (BOM) for manufacturing.
Review and revise existing designs to optimize cost performance and manufacturability.
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards safety guidelines and quality control requirements.
Work closely with R&D production and quality teams to resolve design issues during the manufacturing process.
Perform simulations stress tests and tolerance analysis to validate designs.
Maintain accurate documentation and version control of design files.
Stay updated with emerging 3D design tools trends and best practices to enhance design efficiency.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering Product Design Industrial Design or a related field.
Proven experience as a 3D Design Engineer / CAD Engineer in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Proficiency in 3D design software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA Crew or NX.
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles GD&T and manufacturing processes.
Understanding of materials tolerances and structural analysis.
Skills Required:
Advanced proficiency in 3D modelling and drafting software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering data.
Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining injection moulding or sheet metal fabrication.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and a strong sense of creativity and innovation.
