ESD Technician | EAG Laboratories

EAG Laboratories (a Eurofins company) is looking for a ESD Technician to join the Irvine CA Engineering Sciences lab.

EAG provides ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) & Latch-up test services to a broad spectrum of technology-based sectors. We demonstrate a hands-on approach to technical expertise by utilizing leading-edge methods and tools to attain insight that fuel engineering. 

As a ESD Technician a typical day would involve:

• Verification of waveforms on the HBM and CDM tester using an oscilloscope
• Receiving samples
• Basic test-plan creation using a customer supplied pin-list
• Using materials (solder wire wrap header pins etc) to setup a tester interface from a socket or customer board
• Running parts through stress monitoring the test & setup and providing results to customers
• Working with internal teams to ship parts
• Providing closure to the job with reports data and recording in the enterprise system 

Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays 8am-5pm

Qualifications :

This position works with companies that deal with defense-related activities and is subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). All accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR:

3. Political Asylee or Refugee

Employees are expected to comply with ISO 27001 standard and company requirements for Information security.  

What we would like to see:

Education and Experience: 

• AS degree in Electronics or BS degree in related field with 2 years of direct experience in electronics testing using automated testers.

Job Knowledge Skills and Ability:

• Experience using basic electronic meters (digital multimeter ammeter resistivity meter and field meters)
• Oscilloscope a big plus
• Must have some ability to solder and to be able to check for installed components
• Knowledgeable in Ohms law in practice (or have physics and math background)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to routinely lift 10 pounds; occasionally 20-30 pounds.
• Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
• Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment use a telephone access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels including overhead
• Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance over the telephone and in a group setting.
• Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers.
• Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses Contacts etc.)
• Must be willing and able to wear PPE such as hard-hat steel-toed shoes safety glasses laboratory coat and/or any other devices or equipment that is required.
• Learn new tasks remember processes maintain focus complete tasks independently make timely decisions in the context of a workflow ability to communicate with visitors ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.

Additional Information :

Compensation Range $25-$38/hour. Pay rate is commensurate with experience and degree of technical expertise.
