The Job Mission
Hinkley Point C is now entering peak mechanical electrical and commissioning activity. Youll be based on-site at Bridgwater as part of a hybrid working model (3 days on-site). To succeed in this role youll need to live within a commutable distance of the site. We offer a relocation allowance to support your move and help you settle locally.
Were looking for experienced mechanical engineers from across the UK nuclear sector to join our delivery teams on-site in Bridgwater. Whether your background is in generation decommissioning research or new build this is your opportunity to bring your skills into a flagship programme moving into its most exciting phase.
Your role may include:
Leading or supporting mechanical installation and interface resolution on HPC systems
Developing and reviewing technical specifications for nuclear-classified equipment
Coordinating with contractors suppliers and internal stakeholders on design change control
Supporting pressure testing inspection and surveillance across large bore piping systems
Working across valves turbines pumps tanks HVAC or specialist mechanical packages
Assisting with mechanical commissioning readiness execution and handover
Supporting the resolution of open points and site-based technical issues
Ensuring alignment with nuclear safety cases and ONR expectations
Qualifications :
Essential Skills:
Mechanical engineering background with experience on UK nuclear projects
Experience with piping pressure systems rotating equipment tanks valves or HVAC
Familiarity with nuclear site practices documentation and lifecycle phases
Ability to operate confidently in multidisciplinary site-based teams
Willingness to relocate to Bridgwater and commit to regular on-site delivery
Desired Skills:
Experience supporting installation or commissioning of nuclear mechanical systems
Understanding of safety case principles and design change processes
Experience resolving interface challenges
Involvement in contractor surveillance or site technical coordination
