Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated PLC Engineer to join our Phoenix AZ operations. This role will focus solely on the design programming implementation and commissioning of PLC-based control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience in programmable logic controllers and a solid understanding of control systems particularly in HVAC and energy infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design program and test PLC control systems using platforms such as Siemens Allen-Bradley Schneider Electric or similar.
- Develop logic for HVAC systems energy systems and other mechanical infrastructure using ladder logic function block and structured text.
- Read and interpret electrical mechanical and control system drawings to configure and troubleshoot PLC systems.
- Commission PLC systems on-site including point-to-point checks functional testing and system validation.
- Modify and update PLC logic during commissioning or for system enhancements.
- Work with project managers field technicians and other engineers to ensure control systems meet performance requirements.
- Maintain documentation including control logic diagrams as-builts and technical notes.
- Support post-installation service work and system optimizations as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Automation Mechatronics or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and deployment.
- Strong understanding of control logic electrical diagrams and industrial control systems.
- Proficiency in programming environments such as RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000 TIA Portal or equivalent.
- Experience with HVAC control systems or energy-related control systems is highly preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel locally for on-site commissioning and support.
