Job Description

Application Engineer Machining Processes

Minerva OH On-site Full-Time
Day Shift Monday to Friday

We are seeking a skilled and driven Application Engineer with a strong foundation in machining processes and a passion for solving complex manufacturing challenges. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the productivity and tooling performance of large-scale manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and recommend optimal cutting tools based on machining parameters and applications
  • Troubleshoot tooling and process issues offering data-driven recommendations
  • Analyze tooling performance and suggest improvements through design enhancements
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturers to drive tool life extension machine uptime and quality improvements
  • Support process and manufacturing engineers with tooling-related initiatives
  • Participate in daily plant production and tooling meetings
  • Manage tooling vendors and oversee communication and updates

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or demonstrated expertise in Manufacturing Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on:
    • Cutting tools & metalworking
    • Process design implementation & management
    • Tool life optimization machine uptime and lean practices
  • Proficient with CNC operations and tooling systems (indexable solid carbide etc.)
  • Strong understanding of materials surface finishes and surface treatments
  • Ability to read technical blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Excel (2 years)
  • CNC Machining (2 years)
  • Tooling Management (2 years)
