With a strategic presence in South Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana we proudly serve over 2000 consumers through a diverse range of vocational educational therapeutic and residential programs.

Your Role
As the Community Liaison you will work with community members and organizations to expand opportunities for people with IDD to join integrated activities. You will train and support community partners on inclusive practices develop event schedules across multiple neighborhoods and build relationships with businesses to create trial work volunteer and discovery experiences. You will educate employers on the benefits of hiring people with disabilities document all outreach and relationship-building efforts participate in networking events and follow agency policies and procedures.

Your Role
As the Community Liaison you will work with community members and organizations to expand opportunities for people with IDD to join integrated activities. Responsibilities
Works closely with community members to develop relationships to increase opportunities for consumers to participate in integrated activities.
Provides training and support to community members on how to best support people with IDD within already established community activities.
Creates schedules of events and activities throughout several different communities to ensure consumers can participate in activities within the communities that they live and/or work.
Develops relationships with businesses to create opportunities for consumers to participate in trial work experiences volunteer opportunities job readiness training and other discovery activities to support obtaining community integrated employment.
Provides education and guidance to businesses on hiring people with disabilities the benefits of a diverse workforce and reasonable accommodations.
Participates in networking events and opportunities.
Documents contacts and ongoing relationship development activities.
Follows all agency Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively work with community members and businesses.
Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities and how to support employment readiness.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
High School Diploma
Must maintain a valid drivers license
