Substitute Coordinator / Building Substitute
Reports directly to the School Principal and serves as a member of the teaching staff
Bachelors degree in education-related field and previous teaching experience is required
Full-time (1.0 FTE; Average 40 Hours/Week)
Summary of Position
The Substitute Coordinator / Building Substitute is responsible for training managing and scheduling substitute faculty and staff tracking and reporting all substitute hours and filling the role of substitute as a first response to absences. This is an exempt full-time position with an average 40 hours per week schedule during school months. The qualified candidate will be a degreed teacher willing to embrace the mission of Abundant Life Christian School and available to work flexible hours including any weekend evening or early morning hours to accommodate calling substitutes and assisting with the communication of lesson plans.

Functions and Duties
- Serve as the first point of contact for all faculty and staff absences
- Manage a pool of on-call substitute faculty and staff
- Serve as the building substitute as the first response to absences daily
- As a substitute instruct students in multiple subjects using a variety of teaching methods and technology aids and materials
- Willing serve as a substitute in non-teaching roles as needed (ie. offices kitchen and other support roles)
- Work with school administration to train substitute faculty and staff; ensure they are familiar with the school mission policies procedures and resources
- Schedule substitutes; determine when a sub is needed put their daily schedule together greet them and ensure they know where to go and address any questions
- Manage feedback to and for substitute teachers; collect and track feedback from substitute teachers share feedback with them as necessary and determine when a substitute teacher is no longer needed
- Track substitute hours; maintain a log for teacher absences and coverage verify substitute hours for payroll and work with school administration to ensure accuracy of leave reports and substitute pay
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or apparent
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to respond to coverage needs
