Join Amazons SCOT - OSS team as a Software Development Engineer where youll be responsible for designing developing and maintaining critical software systems for Amazons supply chain. Youll work on challenging technical problems while collaborating with a 2 pizza team of talented engineers engineering managers data scientists and product managers to deliver innovative solutions that impact millions of customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain scalable software solutions
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
- Write high-quality well-tested code following best practices and coding standards
- Collaborate with team members through code reviews and technical discussions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to teams technical growth
A day in the life
As an SDE youll collaborate with team members on design reviews write and review code participate in architecture discussions and work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. Youll be involved in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
