Job Description

The Central Staffing Supervisor is responsible for supervising float pool and Patient Care Inventory Specialists (PCIS). Responsible for staff development performance management payroll and scheduling. Provide Support for all clinical nursing departments on electronic schedule system. Create visibility/transparency regarding all resources in house. Consults with Nursing leadership regarding workload analysis staffing plans and optimal schedule builds including complex schedule options and rotations to meet the workload needs.

Full-time day shift

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates staffing needs and oversees daily schedule(s) to ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation. Manages daily activity for the float pool staff. Collaborates with various departments to maintain appropriate staffing and schedules. Analyzes recommends and implements staffing incentives to ensure safe patient ratios.
  • Provides direct supervision and performance management to assigned staff. Responsible for scheduling/staffing plan corrective actions/coaching supporting Shared Governance.
  • Attends assigned committees/councils nursing and institution-wide meetings.
  • Assists nurse manager in: Hiring process budget creation and management setting goals and vision for the team accounting for unit quality efficiency and safety; including but not limited to safety event follow-up direct observation of quality improvement care initiatives and leading patient falls/pressure injury/central line associated
  • Collaborate with the house supervisors and command center staff to monitor internal resources in order to optimize patient flow and ensure quality care is provided.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement: 2 years of relevant experience.

Special Skills Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop self and others.
  • Builds and maintains excellent relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $86320 - $154960 per year for the role of Central Staffing Supervisor.
