Communications and Events Associate
Job Summary:
The Cove School is seeking a dynamic and creative Communications and Events Associate to join our Advancement Team. This role is essential in increasing visibility building awareness and articulating Coves mission and impact through strategic innovative communications and marketing efforts. Reporting to the Director of Advancement the Associate will support fundraising admissions and community-building initiatives and play a vital role in connecting Coves story with the broader public.

Schedule:

- Monday through Friday 8:00 am 4:00 pm
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and implement communications strategies aligned with Coves mission and goals
- Plan promote and execute fundraising admissions community and Parent Association events in partnership with staff and volunteers
- Manage social media channels and content calendar; engage thoughtfully with followers
- Maintain and regularly update the school website
- Capture and curate photography that reflects daily life and special events at Cove
- Draft content for internal and external marketing materials including newsletters emails and print publications
- Organize and support a strategic school-wide communications calendar to ensure representation and inclusivity across all programs
- Track and report on marketing and communication efforts using data and analytics
- Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets and submit materials for advertising campaigns
- Share relevant articles and resources related to learning disabilities and educational best practices through Coves channels
- Organize and maintain a photo library aligned with student media permissions
- Be a visible and engaged presence in the school community
About Us:
The Cove School is a non-public therapeutic day school for students with learning disabilities located in Northbrook IL. Cove students come from 60 nearby different public schools and families can also choose to fund tuition privately. Classes are kept small. Teaching is flexible and varies according to the individual students learning style. A team of onsite specialists work collaboratively to provide students intensive integrated related services.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in communications marketing or a related fieldor equivalent professional experience
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience managing social media and creating digital content
- Photography or design experience is a plus
- Proficiency in design or editing tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Creative Suite etc.)
