Math Interventionist for English LearnersWest Springfield Middle SchoolEssential Duties and Responsibilities:-Teach grade-level math to newcomers and lower proficiency English Learners using language-accessible strategies.-Support ELs in mainstream math classes by collaborating with content-area teachers.-Plan and deliver lessons that include both math and language development goals.-Use visuals technology and hands-on strategies to make math content understandable and engaging.-Monitor student progress through regular assessments and adjust instruction as needed.-Build a supportive inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.-Communicate regularly with families using translation tools or services when needed.-Keep accurate records of student progress and instructional practices.-Participate in team meetings to support ELs and share effective strategies.-Attend school and district meetings and take part in professional Requirements:-Minimum Bachelors degree from an accredited institution; Masters preferred. -Massachusetts DESE certification is required in Math 5-8. -Additional DESE certification in Math 1-6 or ESL preferred. Special Requirements or Duties:-Demonstrated ability to support the diverse academic and linguistic needs of culturally and linguistically varied student populations.-Skilled in addressing the needs of students with limited interrupted or no formal prior schooling.-Deep understanding of English Learners and a broad repertoire of effective research-based instructional strategies.-Minimum of 13 years of experience teaching English Learners at the secondary level.-Proven experience collaborating with colleagues to differentiate instruction and provide targeted support for multilingual learners.-Strong interpersonal skills with a consistent record of building positive relationships with culturally diverse students families and staff to help every student reach their full potential.-Multilingualism is an : Per Unit A Contract (Salary Range:$52368 - $99083)
