Job Summary
Air Conditioning Mechanic III provides skills at an advanced or master level and be responsible for the complete service of all heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration equipment on UT Arlingtons campus.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Maintain and repair the heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration equipment on campus. Provide technical capability in troubleshooting energy management control systems and other electronic controls. Use EMCS to diagnose building problems and make necessary adjustments in control strategies. Preventive maintenance includes checking/calibrating replacing sensors greasing bearings changing belts changing motors changing filters changing fluids and keeping equipment clean. Install/replace equipment and ductwork as required in remodels and projects. Maintain troubleshoot and repair steam and hydronic boiler systems vacuum pumps air compressors and VFDs. Oversee AC Mechanic Is and IIs during projects for safety and training purposes. Process work orders and EPA paperwork as required. Ensure proper Freon disposal and adherence to state disposal codes. Recommend the ordering of parts as needed for repairs. Recommend alterations/modifications to work order schedules and equipment selections. Performs other duties as assigned. Drives a UTA vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or vocational school certificate with special courses in electricity plumbing or air conditioning or the equivalent experience. Five (5) years of advanced journeyman or masters level experience in the repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems. Experience and working knowledge with an energy management system preferably Siemens Apogee. This position requires a Texas Class C Operators Drivers License and three (3) years of acceptable driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree. Current EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm.
