SUPERVISING COLLECTION OFFICER

This recruitment will establish anOpeneligible list used to fill current and future Supervising Collection Officer vacancies within Auditor-Controller department. This recruitment may also be used to fill positions in similar and/or lower classifications throughout the County of Orange.

PROBATION DEPARTMENT
OC Probation assists the criminal justice system in Orange County California by making a safer Orange County through positive change. Under the direction of the Chief Probation Officer the Probation Department is comprised of three bureaus: Adult Operations Juvenile Operations and Operations Support. THE OPPORTUNITY
The Supervising Collection Officerwill be responsible for the following:
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES
The desirable candidate will have Two (2) years of Supervisory experience. They will also have four (4) years of experience in credit and collections work knowledge of the methods and techniques used in effecting collections and enforcing governmental regulations relating to debt collection supervisory experience with a background in Collections.
College courses training seminars or a combination thereof (e.g. behavioral science business administration criminal justice humanities and paralegal courses etc.) related to the knowledge and the abilities may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience based on three semester units equal to one month and/or one hour of job-related training equal to one hour of experience.
The ideal candidate will also possess extensive professional work experience and/or knowledge in the following competencies:

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Structured Oral Exam (Weighted 100%)
A panel of job knowledge experts will interview and evaluate each candidates responses to a series of structured questions designed to elicit the candidates qualifications for the job. This is a competitive process; therefore candidate responses to the structured questions should be thorough detailed and complete. Only the most successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list.

Eligible List
Once the assessment has been completed HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
Based on the Departments needs the selection procedures listed above may be modified. Candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedures
