Under administrative direction leads manages and participates in the analysis design implementation and management of complex scalable secure and cost-effective cloud computing infrastructure solutions for LACOE and its clients.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:- Principles practices terminology and trends of cloud infrastructure planning design and engineering
- Principles and practices of cloud infrastructure security
- Principes and practices of advanced observability tools for proactive monitoring and effective incident response
- Principles and practices of enterprise cloud architecture solutions and design
- Cloud and hybrid diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
- Cloud security best practices and compliance standards
- Fundamental concepts of employment laws codes and regulations including EEO FLSA FMLA and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
- Decision Making Choosing optimal courses of action in a timely manner
- Analyzing & Interpreting Data Drawing meaning and conclusions from quantitative/or qualitative data
- Professional & Technical Expertise Applying technical subject matter to the job
- Industry Monitoring Grasping the external political economic competitive and social factors affecting the industry
- Legal and Regulatory Navigation Understanding interpreting and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations

Experience:Five years of experience in cloud architecture IT infrastructure platform engineering or DevOps with demonstrated experience with containerized microservices and Kubernetes OR three years as a LACOE Senior Server Engineer.
Equivalency Provision:A bachelors degree with major coursework in computer science information technology or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for one year of the required experience. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Additional Requirements:A current and valid Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert Amazon AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Google Professional Cloud Architect Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is preferred.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
