Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Improves the safety and security of assigned campuses by supporting resource and process development data/information tracking and monitoring compliance with district standards.
Education / Certification:
1. Bachelors degree from an accredited University.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
1. Demonstrated communication skills both written and oral.
2. Demonstrated organizational skills.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office.
4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
5. Knowledge of school safety and security practices.
6. Strong presentation skills and experience in developing and presenting professional development sessions related to safety.
7. Demonstrated ability to monitor and support multiple projects simultaneously
Major Responsibilities and Duties
1. Assists building principals and other administrators and/or supervisors in implementing district safety program.
2. Assists in the evaluation of ongoing safety programs and makes recommendations for changes.
3. Observes and provides feedback on district safety practices including drills exercises and other similar activities at assigned campuses.
4. Conduct and coordinate safety security and emergency preparedness training by developing scheduling and/or facilitating training for staff students and public safety officials relating to school safety security and emergency preparedness training.
5. Supervise district and contracted law enforcement and safety personnel in conjunction with the campus principals.
6. Conduct safety security and emergency preparedness assessments by conducting and/or coordinating annual safety security and emergency preparedness assessments of all school and support facilities.
7. Conduct safety and security planning with school resource officers (SRO) local government planners and first responders.
8. Participate in development of the districts disaster plan and be prepared to take an active role in responding to emergencies as needed.
9. Schedule security and traffic control (as needed) at district-wide events.
10. Perform disaster duty when needed.
11. Respond to emergency situations during and after standard hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
12. Responsible for properly maintaining district records adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records. Perform disaster duty when needed.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling. Frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures dust noise and vibration; exposure to chemical and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts.

3. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
