The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) Division of Home Land Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM) is recruiting for a Grants Administrator 2.
This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit at a range 17.

This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

What you will be doing:
As a key team member youll work closely with the Program Support Manager and Grant Program Manager to manage federal and state grants including the Homeland Security Grant Program Emergency Management Performance Grant and Mitigation Grants. This role offers a chance to be the main point of contact for developing and administering grants helping state agencies and local governments access crucial funding and ensuring smooth application award and reimbursement processes. The successful applicants must pass a federal background check in order to qualify for military base access which is required with this positions work location on base. The background check may include fingerprinting. All job offers are conditional pending successful completion of the federal background check and issuance of a Defense Biometrics Identification System (DBIDS) card allowing base access. Also you must be able to maintain the clearance throughout your employment. If using a private vehicle this will require a valid Alaska Driver License proof of vehicle insurance and a valid State of Alaska vehicle registration.

State employees are guests on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson; clearance and access are not within the States control.

Special Note:In addition in some cases employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). As part of the examination process a background check investigation including a criminal records check will be conducted. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude appointment. The circumstances involved in the conviction will be considered.


Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Grants Administrator 1 with the State of Alaska.

OR

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting grants administration budget administration procurement professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.

Competencies means a combination of interrelated knowledge skills abilities and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.

Typically gained by means the prevalent usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.

It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom on-line self-study and on-the-job) from accredited and unaccredited sources and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.
