Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Network Engineer to work in Washington DC responsible for overseeing the installation and support of network communications including LAN/WAN systems. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation and judgment. Responsible for evaluating current systems. Assists in the planning of large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Requires thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN systems networks and applications. May administer network security measures.
Qualifications:
- Two to five (5) years of network engineering experience.
- Preference of Bachelors degree or higher in an IT-related field.
- Experience with network administration technologies such as DNS DHCP NTP RADIUS log servers packet sensing authentication authorization and AAAS; IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols (BGP); virtual LAN segmentation management; and NAT. Familiar with capturing analyzing and troubleshooting and performance tuning network applications through network packet captures.
- Experience with network access control management.
- Experience with reviewing and analyzing requests for network connectivity
- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required
Physical and Mental Qualifications:
- Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours.
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
- Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
- Execute tasks independently and work as a team.
- Learns and memories routine tasks.
- Strong organizational grammar business correspondence and self-management skills
