Electrical Tester (Testing Technician I)

Location: Greenwood Village CO-Must be available for significant travel to the field

CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an Electrical Tester (Testing Technician I) to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections testing and maintaining electrical power equipment; Seeking a candidate with 2-4 years of experience who is available for up to 40% travel. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor candidates must be a US Citizen.

CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years experience in electrical utility system ownership upgrades maintenance and operations through our sister company City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned municipal cooperative government industrial and commercial customers.

The Electrical Tester will work with electrical equipment such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers pad mount transformers/GSU transformers grounding instrument transformers and variance of switches both manual and motor operated.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform mid/entry level testing of High Medium and Low voltage electrical power equipment under supervision.
  • Testing on apparatus includes breakers transformers CTs PTs cables and grounding.
  • Troubleshoot repair replace and clean equipment and components in a substation.
  • Consult manuals schematics wiring diagrams and Engineering Personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
  • Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and safely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field or previous military experience preferred.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of relevant testing experience with:
    • Prescence of Voltage Verification
    • Contact Resistance
    • Insulation Resistance
    • Test Equipment Set Up
    • One-line Drawings
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Available to work overtime hours and travel to the field for extended time periods.
  • Able to work well both independently and as a contributing team member.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
  • A valid drivers license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.

Travel:

  • Minimum of 40% travel.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • CLPE offers an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance dental insurance life insurance 401k with company contribution paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Hourly payrate range: $25.00-$45.00 based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
    • We reserve the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range based on factors unrelated to sex.
