The Opportunity:
As the Farmer 3 - Feed Mill Operator you will safely operate feed milling machinery and equipment to produce animal feed per specific feed formulas ensuring the production of high-quality feed products that meet stringent standards and are produced in a timely manner. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean work environment inventory and storing raw goods ordering record keeping facilities and equipment maintenance and treating customers in a courteous and professional manner. Job Duties:
Feed Processing 50%
Accurately measure and mix ingredients according to established formulas following standards of quality as outlined by department.
Operate feed mill batching equipment including rolling grinding pelleting equipment ensuring the quality of the finished product.
Ensure orders are processed in an efficient and timely manner meeting customer deadlines.
Facilities Maintenance Housekeeping & Safety 25%
Maintain equipment on a regular schedule to avoid breakdowns by cleaning greasing and monitoring and reporting issues to supervisor in a timely manner.
Assist in maintenance of equipment when needed.
Conduct regular housekeeping duties such as sweeping shoveling power washing scraping and cleaning up spills.
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies procedures and regulations.
Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Follow all company policies procedures and safety requirements.
Keep Mill and grounds in a clean orderly and safe condition to reduce rodent and fire incidents.
Feed Inventory Storage and Record Keeping 15%
Ordering receiving storing and managing inventory of raw ingredients including grains supplements and medications (may include blended bulk or packaged product).
Account for each mix or other service provided by submitting mix summaries from Feed Mill Manager batching system submitting reports and weekly summary to department main office to process billing.
Verify all items listed on the work order or sales ticket are loaded and delivered.
Develop and maintain knowledge of the commodities handled at the location and comply with government regulations pertaining to commodities.
Personnel Supervision 5%
Supervise and train student/temp workers.
Other 5%
Perform additional duties as required.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time (50% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3752 - $5011 Range 42 Step A-M
Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Three years of experience in farm work or maintaining livestock at least six months must include experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.
Experience with Feed Mill Manager feed mill batching/processing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Operating farm equipment such as forklifts skid steers loaders manual trucks.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders stairs and bins.
Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
