Description

WORK LOCATION: Warsaw Poland (U.S. Embassy)

PROJECT DURATION: 24 MONTHS WITH EXPECTED FOLLOW-ON WORK WITHIN THE DoS PROGRAM

  • Functioning as the Electrical Tradesman providing OBO/Warsaw a full range of critical engineering and construction quality assurance and management and technical oversight of the Warsaw CSU Major Renovation Project
  • Performing technical inspections of electrical work monitoring the contractors quality control program and reviewing project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Supporting and assisting OBO/Warsaw in ensuring the completion of the Warsaw CSU Major Renovation in accordance with applicable U.S. codes and standard building practices
  • Ensuring that the contractor is performing the required contract work in accordance with the design documents
  • Reading design/construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations
  • Performing technical inspections of mechanical work monitoring the contractors quality control program and reviewing project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Supporting and assisting OBO/Warsaw in ensuring the completion of the project in accordance with contract requirements
  • Specific experience with Building Automation Systems monitor controls and disconnects general plumbing water/sewage treatment power generation and HVAC systems
  • Reviewing engineering shop drawings and determine if the contractor has complied with the final design parameters. Observing onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed formed and executed properly
  • Performing quality assurance tasks ensuring contractors work is properly inspected and corrective actions take place ensuring materials meet contract reviewing contractor submittals for compliance with contract requirements and resolving conflicts monitoring the construction contractors quality assurance and safety program
  • Observing onsite construction and determining if construction elements are being installed formed and executed properly monitoring construction progress vis--vis the project schedule and submitting weekly progress reports with recommendations based on the technical review of project documents and field inspections
  • Performing technical inspections of the electrical elements of the project
  • Understanding and interpreting drawings in his/her discipline and having a basic understanding of the principals of his/her engineering discipline and how it fits in with other engineering disciplines
  • Reviewing shop drawings and submittals from the contractor and determining if coordination with other disciplines is necessary in addition to monitoring on-going construction work to identifying problems or non-compliance with design or contract specifications
  • Preparing construction reports detailing construction progress and identifies any problem with the construction process related to the incumbents area of expertise after problems are discovered evaluating contractors proposed remedy
  • Formulating solutions for the Project Director/Construction Manager construction on the Warsaw CSU Major Renovation Project will be performed to U.S. standards
  • Reviewing design documents (drawings and specifications) that the A/E prepares as well as performing quality assurance for the construction project in his/her technical area of expertise

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD

Requirements

  • High school diploma licensed electrician and a minimum of seven years of experience required on construction projects of similar scope and dollar value
    • Design office experience shall not count toward an employees experience overseas experience is preferred
  • Must have final secret interim top secret (TS) or final TS security clearance issued by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) at the time of consideration
  • Knowledge of international codes required
  • Experience in assessing and responding to Requests for Information (RFI)
  • Experience in reviewing and evaluating design calculations and data from an engineering perspective
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations i.e. EMOSHA etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite i.e. PowerPoint Excel and Word required
  • Other related duties as assigned by the project director

Desired Skills

  • Expertise in final commissioning of systems preferred

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET ELIGIBILITY
